Behavioural experiments — testing what your brain insists is true

Reframing thoughts is useful. So is naming the distortion. But for the really sticky beliefs — the ones that keep coming back no matter how many times you talk yourself out of them — neither is enough. The belief needs evidence from the real world, not just an internal counter-argument.

That's what a behavioural experiment is. You take one specific anxious prediction your brain is making, design a tiny real-world test of it, and find out what actually happens. The data is more persuasive than the reframe ever was.
